Barras de Mantequilla

Mix the yeast with the warm water with a spoon or small spatula until it is well dissolved and there are no lumps; cover it with plastic and let it rest until it doubles the size. In the mixer, add the dry ingredients, and the margarine; mix until the margarine breaks very well; Add the yeast mix and the two eggs, and mix until everything incorporates and you get a sticky dough; might be necessary to turn off the mixer and scrape the insides of the mixing bowl. Bring the dough out of the bowl to the working table, and knead it until it gets slightly sticky, but it won’t get stuck on your fingers or the surface; this might take up to 10 or 15 minutes. Put the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with plastic, and let it double the size, then form a long loaf like a baguette and place it on a sheet pan with parchment. Cover it with plastic and let it double the size. In a small bowl, mix one egg with 1 tbsp of evaporated milk or water with a fork, and brush the loaf. Bake it at 375 F for 15 to 18 minutes; it might look brown but not fully baked; you can stick a thermometer and the temperature should be 190 F or a little over. Let it cool down before slicing it. Mix the margarine, powdered sugar, and vanilla until fluffy and pale, and spread on each slice.
